Simmetrix joins UGS Partner ProgramCLIFTON PARK, NY, February 6, 2006 -- Simmetrix Inc., a leading provider of component software for simulation-based design and CAD/CAE integration, announced today that it has signed an agreement with UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, to offer Simmetrixs simulation modeling toolkits built on UGS flagship digital product development software platform, NX to other CAE software vendors as well as end-user companies. As part of the agreement, Simmetrix has joined the UGS Partner Program as a Software Partner which provides Simmetrix with access to the NX Open application programming interface (API). Simmetrix will provide the full range of simulation modeling toolkits available in its Simmetrix Simulation Modeling Suite with direct NX geometry access for other UGS Software Partners with NX Open API licenses The NX API interface developed by Simmetrix will support both the Simmetrix Simulation Modeling Suite and the Simmetrix Simulation Application Suite product lines. The Simmetrix Simulation Modeling Suite is a comprehensive set of toolkits to support simulation modeling directly from solid models providing problem definition, attribute management, and automatic mesh generation with support of mesh curving, mesh adaptivity, and anisotropic boundary layer mesh generation. The Simmetrix Simulation Application Suite is a toolkit environment for rapid application development for simulation applications. Custom graphical interactors focused on mesh and model visualization and model attribution are combined with an embedded Python language interpreter to produce a development toolkit that enables efficient production of customized applications. The unique architecture of the Simulation Application Suite incorporates a range of world class component software tools including components from Simmetrix and Tech Soft America,. The Simmetrix Simulation Application Suite combines the power of CAD data access, simulation definition, and automatic mesh generation/adaptivity with high-performance graphics. Simmetrix Inc. is a welcome addition to the UGS Partner Program. Their expertise and background in simulation modeling is well suited to provide integrated design/analysis components for users working in the NX digital product development environment, said Christian Kelley, VP, Partner & Platform Marketing. This partnership further illustrates UGS commitment to providing a truly open design and simulation framework as well as best-in-class solutions for digital simulation as an integral part of a process-managed PLM environment. The addition of NX direct geometry access support to our simulation toolkits provides our customers with access to design geometry for advanced simulations directly from their NX design environment, said Joe Walsh, VP Business Development of Simmetrix. The combination of the simulation modeling capabilities of the Simmetrix Simulation Modeling Suite and the geometry access provided through the NX API will provide our customers with excellent capabilities to develop truly integrated design/simulation applications based on NX geometry. About Simmetrix Inc.Simmetrix Inc. is a leading provider of OEM component technology, software tools, and services for CAD/CAE integration. Simmetrix customers include simulation modeling software developers that provide a broad range of analysis applications including mechanical, electro-magnetic, fluids (CFD), and MEMS simulation. Simmetrix products include the Simulation Modeling Suite and the Simulation Application Suite, comprehensive software tools to support Simulation Modeling directly from solid models providing problem definition, attribute management, CAE results management, and automatic mesh generation with support of mesh curving, mesh adaptivity, and anisotropic boundary layer mesh generation. The Simmetrix tools enable automated creation and management of simulation data suitable for finite element, finite volume, and boundary element analysis directly from design data.
